Congratulations 2016 athletes,
We are really proud of everybody who’s participating in this tournament. I hope you each find your own personal success in this competition.
Through every game, champions are born – whether they win or lose. So no matter your outcome; remember you are either a champion in this game or a champion in the making, keep your focus and keep steadily improving your skills.
On behalf of the UAW-Ford department, we wish you and your families a happy holidays and a prosperous New Year.
Welcome again to the best high school boys and girls basketball event in Michigan. For your enjoyment, the 22nd Annual Motor City Roundball Classic will provide you with more local talent than ever before including many of the top players in the state.
We are pleased to showcase a robust group of teams playing many outstanding games. However, our primary focus is to remember that every school has the right to participate in a holiday tournament. The Motor City Roundball Classic continues to provide a venue where small schools as well as big schools participate in the same tournament. We believe each student/athlete deserves to be treated equally no matter what program they are from.
A special thanks to our sponsors and volunteers for the wonderful support of this event. For the following individuals, TJ. Kelly, Eric Lindsey, Mal Parker, Yvonne Denson- Agee, Tiffanie Agee, Steve Worthy, David Greenwood, and of course my wife, Cheryl, I truly appreciate everything you have done to make sure that we have a great basketball classic. We continue to work well as a team ensuring a fantastic family event, I could not do this without you all and countless others. Thank you for your loyalty, dedication, and belief in the Motor City Roundball Classic.
We hope that you enjoy this event and thank you for your support over the past 21 years. The Motor City Roundball Classic flourishes because of the consistent, charitable, and selfless support of its patrons. We are in this together. Please enjoy this basketball extravaganza at Detroit Renaissance (Boys) and Detroit Collegiate Prep (Girls). Have a wonderful and fun-filled holiday and I wish you all a Happy New Year!
